Legal & General is the proud sponsor of the two most successful Help the Aged HandyVan Schemes in the UK: the Birmingham and Cardiff schemes, which are both local to Legal & General offices.

Older people in both cities have been identified as being at particular risk from burglary and bogus caller crimes. These can have devastating effects on older people, forcing them to become prisoners in their own homes.

People next to a HandyVan with an L&G umbrellaHelp the Aged HandyVan schemes operate in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the country. Our HandyVan fitters visit the homes of vulnerable older people, fitting improved security measures and carrying our routine maintenance jobs.

‘Legal & General has enjoyed a highly successful partnership with Help the Aged over a number of years and we are delighted to have the opportunity to support two such valuable and worthwhile HandyVan schemes. The partnership has enabled Legal & General to meet several of its corporate social responsibility objectives and it's clear that the schemes have a life-changing impact on countless older people'.

Jane Boswell, CSR Manager, Legal & General

HandyVan sponsorship allows Legal & General to meet several of their key corporate social responsibility aims including supporting local projects, crime prevention and improving the lives of older people. Branding on both vans and regional PR has really boosted the organisation’s local profile in both communities.
