Streets ahead with sponsorship
The Leeds Abbey Dash is the Help the Aged annual 10km road race held in the heart of Leeds.
It has been voted as one of the top three road races in the UK by Runners World Magazine, and raises an amazing £65,000 for Help the Aged.
Abbey, one of the UK's largest personal financial services companies, has been headline sponsor of the Leeds Abbey Dash for three years.
Abbey has an excellent opportunity to raise its brand profile through branding on the 25,000 race registration forms, running numbers, promotional race literature, t-shirts, kilometre markers, trophies, and start and finish gantries, plus extensive PR coverage.
Reebok supplies race marterials and vouchers for the race winners, and its expertise and support enables us to offer runners a highly professional experience. In return this leading sports brand is able to market its range of running merchandise, helping it to increase its market share.

'We hope our relationship with the event and with Help the Aged will be ongoing and mutually beneficial. Certainly the cause is one that is of huge significance to each and every one of us.'
Tim Hutchings, Athletics Consultant, Reebok |
The profile of the event has also attracted further sponsorship from BUPA (sponsors of the warm-up stage), Blue Keld (water providers) and the Yorkshire Evening Post (media partner).
Benefits to the sponsors include:
- branding opportunities at the race and on all race literature;
extensive PR opportunities in regional, national and running/sport media including print, broadcast and online;
- the opportunity to fulfil key CSR objects either through financial sponsorship or Gift in Kind; and
- the knowledge that their sponsorship allows Help the Aged to leverage more funds from participants in the Leeds Abbey Dash.
