London Clubs International, part of the Harrah’s group of worldwide casinos and hotels, is funding a five-year strategic partnership with Help The Aged to support SeniorMobility projects and HandyVan schemes in target UK locations to be identified by the partnership.
Harrah’s vision and mission includes a commitment to older people in their communities. In North America, Harrah’s donates a percentage of its profits to charitable causes and, amongst others, supports a project to help senior citizens.
LCI Harrah’s Foundation has provided valuable support to vulnerable and isolated older people since 2008, through funding two SeniorMobility minibuses in Nottingham, Glasgow and Manchester.
The support of London Clubs International has also funded the HandyVan scheme in Southend-on-Sea which will help to secure around 600 homes a year.

'London Clubs International believes that being good corporate citizens means addressing the problems that communities identify, not grandstanding on issues that attract the most publicity. Help The Aged is a very special charity, day in day out delivering practical assistance to some of the most vulnerable people in society. We are proud to be involved with Help the Aged and to support their valuable work.'
Roy Ramm, Executive Director, London Clubs International Ltd. |
Two further projects are planned for 2009-10.
Help the Aged is currently planning a full programme of fundraising events which will ensure all employees of London Clubs International have the opportunity to become actively involved in the partnership.
