B&Q, the largest home improvement and garden centre retailer in the UK and Europe, has teamed up with Help the Aged in the hope of raising £150,000 over a three-year relationship.

Help the Aged will utilise the massive footfall at B&Q by holding quarterly collection weekends nationwide outside B&Q stores. Visit the volunteer collectors page on the Help the Aged website to find out more and get involved.

B&Q will also support Help the Aged in a range of other initiatives from skills-sharing and fundraising to campaigning on the Lifetime Homes standard.

Help the Aged looks forward to this fantastic opportunity and envisages a successful partnership which will make a real difference to disadvantaged older people in the UK, as well as benefiting both organisations.

'We are looking forward to having a long and fruitful relationship with Help the Aged. We have a number of similar priorities in the area of diversity and we know we can share ideas and support each other to ensure a positive future for our older customers and colleagues.'

Claire Finch, B&Q’s Community SR Co-ordinator
