Morrisons Charity of the Year 2008/9

This year, Morrisons staff have chosen to support both Help the Aged and ChildLine, who have teamed up to combat abuse and neglect among the older and younger generations.

Esther Rantzen CBE, founder and president of ChildLine and ambassador for Help the Aged work, said: 'With the support of Morrisons, ChildLine and Help the Aged will be able to help thousands of children and older people who may be in pain or distress.'

For more information on the partnership, visit the Morrisons Charity of the Year page, email g4g@helptheaged.org.uk or call the Generations for Generations hotline on 0207 239 1474.

B&Q logoA big welcome to B&Q: a new three-year Charity of the Year partnership

Help the Aged is proud to announce a new partnership with B&Q, the largest home improvement and garden centre retailer in the UK and Europe.

B&Q will be supporting Help the Aged in wide range of initiatives from skills sharing and fundraising to campaigning on the Lifetime Homes standard. Help the Aged looks forward to this fantastic opportunity and envisages a successful partnership which will make a real difference to disadvantaged older people in the UK, as well as benefiting both organisations.

Claire Finch, B&Q’s Community SR Co-ordinator, says: 'We are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Help the Aged. We have a number of similar priorities in the area of diversity and we know we can share ideas and support each other to ensure a positive future for our older customers and colleagues.'

For more details about the partnership, contact Ben Lewis at Help the Aged. For more information on B&Q go to www.diy.com

Five are hoping to raise £20,000 for Help the Aged through a series of employee-led fundraising events. Staff will work together to organise a variety of events, as well as taking part in some Help the Aged events such as the London to Paris cycle ride. Check the fundraising total

They got off to a flying start recently with a cookery master class and a quiz night, and directors recently took part in a very special Give Us A Clue game show evening - see the pictures in the photo gallery

'Five are really excited to be working with Help The Aged. It is a fantastically worthy cause and the money we raise will be directly benefiting older people. The team at Help The Aged are really hands-on and have been working closely with us both in coming up with fundraising ideas, and in helping out with staffing our events.'

Jeremy Crane, Charity Committee Chairman, Five
